FAQ

Is this the same as adding all breaker ratings?

No. Breaker ratings describe circuit protection and cannot be summed to determine dwelling demand. Load calculations use connected loads, demand rules, noncoincident loads, and specific continuous-load requirements.

Why are heating and cooling not added together?

When the adopted rule permits them to be treated as noncoincident, the larger applicable contribution is used. Enter project-correct values because heat pumps, supplemental heat, and multiple systems can require different treatment.

Can this confirm that an EV charger fits an existing service?

It provides a screening comparison. Final approval must consider the adopted load-calculation method, EVSE continuous-load treatment, existing measured demand where permitted, load management, conductors, panel rating, and authority requirements.

Does the 230 V planning mode comply with IEC?

No. IEC-based countries use national and utility-specific diversity and connection rules. The planning mode only applies demand factors explicitly entered by the user.
